In recent summers, Spain has experienced extremely high temperatures. This directly impacts the swimming pool sector, as pools are, of course, one of the most popular ways to beat the heat. <\/p>\n

Despite being a great solution, swimming pools are not exempt from being affected by high temperatures.<\/p>\n

The first element that suffers the effects of heat is the disinfectant we use in our facility, since it is volatile at high temperatures and after hours of exposure ends up losing its ability to disinfect.<\/p>\n

For this reason, during the warmer months, our pool will require more maintenance.<\/strong> If we don’t increase our water care during the heat, it will turn green or cloudy more easily. Whatever cleaning process we usually use for our pool, it should be carried out more frequently than during the rest of the year. <\/p>\n

Another aspect that will affect pool owners is their household energy consumption. With extreme temperatures, we will be forced to extend the filtration schedule,<\/strong> which will increase the pump’s energy consumption and the overall electricity usage of the pool compared to the rest of the year.<\/p>\n

Finally, in addition to electricity consumption, we will also see an increase in water consumption. The high heat causes partial evaporation of the water,<\/strong> so we will often have to refill the tank, using more water than we would like.<\/p>\n

Having a pool to escape the high temperatures is a privilege, but we must be aware that every privilege requires care, and in this situation, we have to go a step further to be able to have a slightly more pleasant summer.<\/p>\n
