This summer Reindesa has carried out the renovation of the communal swimming pool of the well-known Eden Mar apartments in Torre Valentina, Calonge.
The pool is located on the terrace of a 5th floor, with apartments directly below.
We started with a swimming pool that was about 40 years old and had a lead-based waterproofing system. It couldn’t be re-gunned because the building’s structure couldn’t support such extra weight. All these challenges made this project a major professional undertaking.
A thorough renovation has been carried out:
-The pool had a water collection channel on one side that had significant leaks and has been replaced by skimmers.
-The coping stone was very deteriorated and has been completely replaced with new stone specially made for this pool.
-The interior mosaic tiles have been changed to a navy blue color that gives a spectacular effect to the water in contrast with the sky and the incredible views of Calonge and Palamós in the background.
– Spotlights have been added to illuminate the pool since the existing ones had been out of use for years.
-The vents of the interior courtyards located within the pool have been rehabilitated, turning them into islands where you can sit using custom-made coping stones.
-An access staircase for people with reduced mobility has been added, which will surely facilitate the entry and exit of older bathers.
