Just one day before the opening, Fira de Barcelona is finalizing the last details to host the International Swimming Pool Show: Piscina BCN 2011 , with more than 300 companies from 23 different countries ready to showcase the most innovative products in the world of swimming pools , wellness and aquatic facilities.
Piscina BCN 2011 will also offer a program of conferences and activities with the aim of being a platform for meeting, exchanging know-how, information, and knowledge, both nationally and internationally . The range of offerings will be divided into four sections: Residential Swimming Pools, Wellness, Aquatic Facilities, and International Markets.
Although Piscina Bcn has been around for 10 editions, we’ve become nostalgic and wanted to remember the years before this event, when companies in the sector met at the already veteran Barcelona Boat Show .
1982 was the year Reindesa participated with a strong presence at the exhibition and, in just 15 days, built a temporary swimming pool on the Passeig Maria Cristina . The process was quick and efficient, with a spectacular result for the time. The pool measured 50m x 20m x 1.15m and hosted all kinds of activities , from windsurfing to canoeing. It was open to the city of Barcelona for a week before being dismantled again in 7 days.
Inside, Reindesa had a stand showcasing the latest innovations. They might not seem like it now, but these were the same innovations from almost 30 years ago!
Margit Kocsis , also known as the Terry girl , was the alluring face chosen to represent Reindesa in the late 1960s . This is how the model and the stand looked at a very young Boat Show .
A lot has changed since then, and attention has shifted. Reindesa has adapted year after year by innovating and investing in new solutions .
In this year’s Salon, Reindesa was a finalist in the Piscina BCN Awards and is nominated for the award for best wellness center of the last two years. The awards ceremony will take place on October 19th . We certainly won’t miss it!
